Leverage Pressure Map

Live

Estimated liquidation zones: where leveraged positions would be force-closed if price got there.

Refreshes every 5 min · Built from Bybit / OKX public data

These are modelled estimates, not real positions. No one outside an exchange can see individual positions, so every liquidation heatmap — including the paid ones — is a model. The method is spelled out at the bottom of this page. Treat the zones as areas where a move could accelerate, never as price targets.

How this map is built

Six assumptions, all of them arguable. They are listed so you can judge the output rather than trust it.

  1. 1. Current open interest is the total notional at risk right now.
  2. 2. That interest was opened across the last 14 days in proportion to each hour's traded volume, decayed by age with a three-day half-life — recent positions dominate.
  3. 3. Within each hour, longs and shorts split by that candle's direction: up candles skew toward longs opening, down candles toward shorts.
  4. 4. Leverage is spread across standard tiers: 5x, 10x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, weighted toward the middle of the range.
  5. 5. A position liquidates at entry × (1 ∓ 1/leverage). Real levels sit slightly further out, since this ignores fees, maintenance margin, and added collateral.
  6. 6. Positions whose liquidation level has already been traded through are dropped — they were wiped out already — and the surviving levels are scaled back up to match current open interest.

The pressure score weights each cluster by how close it sits to spot, then expresses the total as a share of open interest. A high score means a lot of leverage is bunched near the current price, so a modest move could set off a chain of forced closes. It does not say which direction price will go. This covers one exchange's perpetual market, not every venue.
